Chia Breakfast Jars

As you probably know by now my absolute faveee meal is breakfast, and at the moment I’m a little TOO obsessed with creating new brekkie ideas daily. Whether it’s a big ol’ cooked veggie one, or a super simple fruity one I lavvvvv them all… So today I thought I’d introduce you to a little something I’ve been making a hell of a lot recently…Chia Jars!
You’ve probably seen in past posts that I love re-using jam jars for a whole load of reasons…mainly they can become, well anything you want them to really… from vases, to drinking glasses, to breakfast jars….don’t ever throw them away…they’re just too handy!

SoOoOO, this leads me onto  these gorge lil chia Jars… they’re so so easy to prep and great if you don’t have much time in the mornings//would rather get making the night before!

I’ve got three tasty recipes for you to try…they all start with vv similar basic ingredients, but each have their own lil touch of something different. Really hope you enjoy them…I know I did !

Raspberry Mess:

So let’s start with my fave, obvs. This one is all about the raspberries…I saw this recipe online and had to give the chai jam a go, and oh boy was it worth it! Adding raspberries to the mixture gives it some added sweetness, perfect if you have a bit of a sweet tooth in the mornings! I’ve gone with a lovely cinnamon chai alongside the jam to give the jar more of a pudding like taste…soso good!

For the Chia:
1 cup of almond milk
1/4 cup of chia seeds
A dash of cinnamon
A teaspoon of honey
For the Raspberry Jam:
1 cup of fresh raspberries
1 tablespoon of honey
1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons of chia seeds

Let’s do this:

Step one: Pop all of your chia ingredients into a food blender and whizz together for a couple of seconds – I find this way the chia doesn’t sink to the bottom and instead sets perfectly, and evenly in the jar.

Step two: Next pour your mixture into your chosen jar and either pop the lid back on, or cover with cling film and leave in the fridge to set over night.

Step three: Now for the Raspberry jam, and this part is just as easy! Pop the raspberries, honey, and lemon juice into a bowl. Then using a fork, mash your raspberries until they begin to form a jam like mixture.

Step four: Now stir the chia seeds into the mix, and again cover and leave in the fridge over night!
Step five: In the morning layer both the chia and jam mixture together and then finally sprinkle some fresh raspberries on top…YUM!

Passion Fruit Lushness:

I’m OBSESSED with passion fruit at the moment, I have no idea why…well apart from the fact its so friggin’ tasty … but seriously, I’m layering everything I can with the stuff! SO, for this pot I thought I’d go simple with the chia mixture and then add a chunky layer of passion fruit lushnesss…and finally top it off with some gorge fresh mango….bliss!

For the Chia:
1 cup of almond milk
1/4 cup of chia seeds
A teaspoon of honey
For the Fruitiness:
Two passion fruits
Half a mango

Let’s do this:

Step one: Things are gonna start off pretty similarly to above…Pop all of your chia ingredients into a food blender and whizz together !

Step two: Then, pour your mixture into a jar and either pop the lid back on, or cover with cling film and leave in the fridge over night.

Step three: In the morning take your chia mixture and layer with your passion fruit – I went went one chunky layer, but you can mix it up or spread things out a lil more!
Step four: To finish things off, top your jar with a layer of fresh mango…such a good combo !

Banana & Blueberry Bliss:

This one is super sweet and simple…mixing up the chai with the banana gives it a little more flavour and if you’re feeling super fancy you could even pop a teaspoon of almond butter in there too! oWWhHH all the flavours!

For the Chia:

1 cup of almond milk
1/4 cup of chai seeds
A teaspoon of honey
Half a ripe banana
For the Fruitiness:
A handful of blueberries
The other half of the banana

Let’s do this:

Step one: AGAIN…Pop all of your chia ingredients into a food blender and whizz together, but this time including the banana too!

Step two: Pour all of your mixture into a jar and either pop the lid back on, or cover with cling film and leave in the fridge over night to set.

Step three: In the morning layer your chia mixture with thinly sliced banana and then finally pop a handful of blueberries on top!
